About the Role

The
CFO
will be a key member of the TEDxMaitama leadership team, providing strategic financial oversight and ensuring fiscal responsibility across all programs, partnerships, and events. This role blends financial acumen with a spirit of innovation, supporting the Curator and Executive Team to make data-informed decisions and build a financially resilient organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement TEDxMaitama's financial strategy aligned with its mission and growth goals.
  • Advise leadership on financial planning, risk management, and sustainable revenue models.
  • Support strategic partnerships and sponsorship initiatives with financial insights and impact projections.

Budgeting & Financial Operations

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets for events, programs, and campaigns.
  • Oversee financial tracking, expenditure control, and transparent reporting.
  • Work closely with the Partnerships and Operations teams to ensure responsible allocation of resources.

Revenue & Sustainability

  • Support design of innovative funding models (e.g., memberships, partnerships, community-driven initiatives).
  • Collaborate with the Curator to identify grant, sponsorship, and donor opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with TEDx guidelines and local financial regulations.

Governance & Accountability

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop policies for financial accountability, procurement, and internal controls.
  • Oversee audits and ensure transparent stewardship of TEDxMaitama's resources.

Who You Are

  • A purpose-driven finance professional with a passion for ideas, innovation, and impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or professional certification such as ICAN/ACCA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or business strategy—preferably within events, NGOs, or creative industries.
  • Strong grasp of budgeting, reporting, and fundraising principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative leader who thrives in dynamic, mission-oriented environments.
