Position: Restaurant Accountant

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Salary: ₦120,000 monthly

Shift: 6:00am – 6:00pm / 6:00pm – 6:00am (Rotational)

Benefits: Meal & Accommodation provided

Day Off: One day off per week

Job Summary

The Restaurant Accountant is responsible for managing all financial transactions of the restaurant, ensuring accurate record-keeping, cost control, and timely reporting. The role involves close monitoring of daily sales, expenses, supplier payments, and cash flow to support effective business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily sales, purchases, and expense transactions accurately.
  • Reconcile cash, POS, and bank records at the end of each shift/day.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management review.
  • Monitor inventory usage and assist in cost control to prevent wastage or leakage.
  • Process supplier invoices, payments, and petty cash disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support external auditors during reviews or inspections.
  • Assist management in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain proper filing of all accounting documents and receipts.

Job Specification

Education & Qualification:

  • B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN/ATS) is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' accounting experience, preferably in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of inventory and cost management.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking ability.
  • Integrity and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work long shifts and in a fast-paced environment.
