Client Relations Officer

Role Overview

A reputable and strategically positioned business consulting and training firm is seeking a Client Relations Officer to represent the firm in engagements with large corporate organizations and institutional clients. This role combines relationship-led business development, proposal ownership, and senior client representation.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, articulate, and confident—someone with strong professional presence who can engage senior decision-makers, develop tailored proposals, and convert opportunities into consulting and training engagements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Engagement & Representation

  • Act as a primary representative of the company in meetings with corporate and institutional clients.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Maintain a professional presence aligned with the firm's consulting and corporate positioning.

2. Business Development & Growth

  • Drive business development across consulting services, corporate training programs, and the company's in-house training facility.
  • Identify, qualify, and progress opportunities through structured engagement and follow-up.
  • Support management in positioning the company as a preferred consulting and training partner.

3. Proposal Development & Commercial Execution

  • Lead the preparation, structuring, and submission of high-quality consulting and training proposals.
  • Translate client needs into clear, compelling value propositions and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate internal inputs to ensure proposals are accurate, professional, and delivery-ready.
  • Support negotiations and closing of engagements.

4. Relationship & Opportunity Management

  • Maintain clear records of client engagements, proposals, and outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline activity and engagement progress.
  • Support long-term account development rather than one-off transactions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in client engagement, business development, consulting support, or corporate relationship roles.
  • Proven experience engaging corporate or institutional clients.
  • Strong proposal writing, presentation, and commercial documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation & Incentives

  • Competitive base salary
  • 10% commission on net profit from every successfully closed consulting or training engagement, including clients utilizing the in-house training facility (subject to company commission policy)
