Job Position: Safety Officer

Job Location: Calabar, Cross River

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to promote and enforce a culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance across our logistics operations and workshop activities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in implementing safety policies, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring all staff adhere to established safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard analyses across all company sites.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, while recommending corrective actions.
  • Facilitate regular safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for drivers and workshop staff.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory HSE regulations and company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and prepare periodic safety performance reports for management.
  • Liaise with relevant agencies and authorities on occupational health and safety matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in safety management. (within logistics, haulage, or manufacturing environment is a plus)
  • Excellent knowledge of safety regulations, hazard management, and emergency response planning.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.

Salary

N150,000 - N200,000 per month.
