Transport and logistics officer

The Transport and Logistics Officer supports the efficient coordination and management of AOM Industries Ltd's fleet of fuel distribution trucks. The role ensures timely deliveries, vehicle readiness, driver supervision, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards, while maintaining operational efficiency and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations

• Coordinate daily scheduling and dispatch of fuel trucks to customer locations.
• Monitor truck movements using GPS tracking systems to ensure timely deliveries and compliance with approved routes.
• Ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy, serviced, and maintained as scheduled.
• Track and record fuel usage, mileage, and delivery turnaround times.
• Liaise with depots, clients, and internal teams to facilitate smooth loading and delivery operations.

Driver Coordination

• Supervise and maintain close communication with drivers to ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
• Prepare driver rosters, assign trips, and monitor driving hours.
• Maintain accurate records of driver performance, attendance, and disciplinary issues.
• Support driver training and safety awareness programs.

Safety and Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to transport safety procedures, HSE guidelines, and petroleum product handling regulations.
• Conduct vehicle and driver inspections before dispatch to ensure compliance.
• Report and document any incidents, breakdowns, or fuel losses during trips.
• Ensure all licenses, vehicle papers, and regulatory documents are up-to-date.

Logistics Administration

• Keep updated records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and service schedules.
• Track and report operational costs including fuel, maintenance, and logistics expenses.
• Assist in planning efficient routes to reduce delivery time and cost.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports on fleet performance and logistics activities.
