We are seeking a highly experienced
IT Manager with a proven, demonstrable track record in the banking sector
. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise managing banking technology environments, leading IT operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance across critical financial systems. You must have previously executed this role
within a bank or financial institution,
not adjacent industries.

This position requires a professional who is technically versatile, operationally strong, and strategically aligned with modern banking technology demands.

Key Responsibilities
Banking Software & System Management

  • Oversee day-to-day management, optimization, and troubleshooting of
    core banking applications
    , digital banking channels, and enterprise financial systems.
  • Ensure the stability, uptime, and efficiency of mission-critical services such as mobile banking, online banking, ATM/POS infrastructure, and transaction processing systems.
  • Manage integrations with third-party financial platforms (NIBSS, CBN systems, card processors, KYC platforms, etc.).
  • Collaborate with software vendors and internal teams to deliver updates, enhancements, and issue resolutions.

Infrastructure & Technical Operations

  • Direct the bank's IT infrastructure including servers, networks, data centers, cloud systems, and endpoint devices.
  • Oversee ATM/POS connectivity, branch network reliability, and inter-branch communications.
  • Maintain a strong
    Disaster Recovery
    and
    Business Continuity
    architecture compliant with banking standards.
  • Manage technology procurement and lifecycle planning.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity controls to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Ensure the bank meets all local and international regulations (CBN guidelines, NDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Lead risk assessments, internal/external audits, penetration testing, and compliance reporting.
  • Oversee incident response procedures and fraud prevention technology.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor the IT team across infrastructure, support, digital channels, and application management.
  • Partner with senior management to align technology goals with organizational objectives.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives and introduce modern solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–8+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3+ years in a similar IT Manager or IT Lead role
    within a bank or financial institution (mandatory).
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience
    managing banking systems, including:
  • Core banking applications
  • Digital banking platforms
  • ATM/POS infrastructure
  • Payment and settlement systems
  • Solid technical competence in:
  • Network and system administration
  • Database management (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres)
  • Cybersecurity frameworks
  • Cloud (AWS, Azure, hybrid environments)
  • ITIL best practices
  • Proven ability to lead IT teams, manage technical projects, and coordinate across departments.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
