We are currently seeking a competent and detail-oriented Office Accountant to join our dynamic team and ensure the smooth running of our financial and administrative operations.

Job Summary

The Office Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day financial transactions, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring statutory compliance, and maintaining transparent accounting practices. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, implement efficient financial systems, and support management in making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Record and reconcile all daily financial transactions, payments, and receipts.
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices, vouchers, and payment approvals.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all accounting records in both soft and hard copies.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure timely filing of all tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, Company Income Tax).
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Ensure all financial operations comply with internal controls and company policies.

Payroll & Expense Management

  • Process monthly payroll and ensure accurate remittance of statutory deductions.
  • Track employee expense claims, reimbursements, and petty cash management.
  • Monitor and control operational costs, highlighting areas for cost efficiency.

Administrative & Support Functions

  • Support procurement and vendor payments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
  • Assist management with financial insights for business decision-making.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all financial dealings.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience:

  • B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant work experience (experience in real estate, construction, or facility management is an added advantage).
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or in view) is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Excellent financial reporting, reconciliation, and analytical skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Integrity, accountability, and a results-driven mindset.
