Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional
Finance Controller
—a detail-driven finance leader with strong technical expertise, excellent analytical capabilities, and a passion for building scalable financial systems.
Reporting directly to the Fractional CFO, this role sits at the center of OneHealth's financial integrity and operational discipline. You will oversee accounting operations, maintain accurate financial reporting, strengthen financial controls, ensure statutory compliance, and support FP&A to guide strategic decision-making as the company expands in Nigeria and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full general ledger function, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing.
- Accounting Operations & Reporting
- Prepare complete financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for management and external stakeholders.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll execution.
- Maintain accurate intercompany reconciliations across multi-entity operations (Nigeria, U.S., etc.).
- Lead and coordinate the annual external audit process.
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Implement and enforce internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory tax obligations (VAT, WHT, CIT) and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Review and approve bank reconciliations, journal entries, and major expenditures.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Support
- Support the CFO in preparing budgets, forecasts, and rolling financial projections.
- Support cash flow management and monitor critical working capital metrics (DSO, inventory turnover, etc.).
- Conduct detailed variance analysis, identifying performance drivers and insights to guide leadership decisions.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Serve as the finance super-user for Odoo and ensure integrity of financial data within the ERP.
- Identify automation opportunities and strengthen process efficiency across the Finance function.
- Maintain secure, accurate, and reliable financial systems and data.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) is
mandatory
.
- Minimum 5+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role—preferably in a startup, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/local GAAP and Nigerian tax/statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; proficiency with
Odoo
is a significant advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, precision, and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to manage and develop finance teams.
