Location: Lagos, Nigeria

About the Role

We are looking for a competent Machine Operator/Technician with experience operating and maintaining specialized mechanized and remotely operated equipment used in upstream field operations. The ideal candidate will support onshore and offshore activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of advanced field machinery deployed for critical project tasks.

Key Responsibilities


• Operate and monitor advanced mechanized and remotely operated systems during field assignments.


• Carry out pre-operation checks, system calibrations, and functional tests.


• Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshooting of operational equipment.


• Assist with equipment mobilization, setup, configuration, and demobilization.


• Maintain operational logs, service reports, and equipment performance records.


• Work closely with project and HSE teams to ensure safe execution in high-risk environments.


• Follow strict OEM guidelines, internal procedures, and client safety standards.


• Support continuous improvement initiatives for equipment utilization and field efficiency.

Requirements


• OND/HND/B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.


• Minimum 2–5 years' experience operating specialized upstream operational equipment.


• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electromechanical controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics.


• Ability to interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and diagnostic data.


• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and hands-on field competence.


• Willing and able to work in both onshore and offshore environments.


• Valid safety certifications (BOSIET/HUET) are an added advantage.


• Strong communication skills and high safety awareness.

Preferred Skills


• Experience with remote-operated systems or automated field equipment.


• Familiarity with PTW systems, JSA preparation, and upstream operational procedures.


• OEM training or certification on specialized field machinery (an advantage).
