Role Description
The Finance Business Partner plays a key role in ensuring the financial health and accuracy of Ashcorp's store operations. This role bridges finance and business, providing strategic insights, financial control, and analytical support to drive profitable decision-making. Working closely with the CFO and store leadership, the Finance Business Partner ensures integrity in revenue reporting, supports inventory management, and provides actionable financial insights that enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Finance Business Partnering
• Work closely with the CFO to ensure accuracy and integrity of revenue and inventory figures.
• Serve as the Finance Business Partner to the Head of Sales, Boutique Manager, Sales, and Inventory teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities, optimize margins, and control costs.
• Translate financial data into insights to guide decision-making and performance improvement.
• Support the CFO in financial modeling, forecasting, and business performance reviews.
2. Sales Accounting & Reporting
• Take full ownership of Sales Accounting and Reporting, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly updates are timely and accurate.
• Monitor daily sales, discounts, refunds, and payment collections, identifying discrepancies promptly.
• Manage and validate sales transaction postings in the ERP system.
• Reconcile sales records with inventory movement and bank inflows to maintain data integrity.
• Review POS transaction reports, investigate discrepancies, and ensure alignment with financial statements.
• Provide ongoing sales analytics to support strategic and operational decisions.
3. Inventory Management Support
• Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to ensure accurate accounting of stock movement and valuation.
• Review and update daily inventory lists, ensuring accurate reflection of stock positions.
• Identify and account for obsolete, defective, or damaged products.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory counts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory control and reporting efficiency.
4. Audit, Compliance & Financial Control
• Support the finance team during internal and external audit processes, providing required documentation and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
• Maintain accuracy in revenue recognition and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Participate in developing and maintaining a strong control environment to safeguard company assets.
5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Generate and interpret financial reports that highlight boutique performance, revenue trends, and expense management.
• Recommend data-driven improvements to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
• Support ad-hoc analyses, financial reviews, and projects assigned by the CFO.
• Contribute to building a data-driven culture through accurate and timely financial insights.
Qualifications and Key Competencies Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as an accountant or finance professional, preferably within retail, FMCG, or fashion industry settings.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and reporting tools.
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles, revenue assurance, and inventory accounting.
