Technical Product Manag

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) acts as the bridge between the customer-facing product teams, engineering teams, and business strategy. This role owns the technical roadmap for Belema's core platform, APIs, data infrastructure, and shared services. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, a keen business sense, and exceptional communication skills to drive the development of scalable, secure, and performant technical products that power all of Belema's services.

Key Responsibilities
:

Technical Product Strategy & Roadmap:
Define and maintain the 1-3 year roadmap for core technical products, including our payment APIs, data pipelines, internal services, and platform tooling, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.

Technical Requirements Definition:
Work closely with Engineering and Architecture teams to translate high-level business needs and customer requirements into detailed, non-functional and functional technical specifications (e.g., performance, latency, security, scale).

API Governance and Design:
Act as the internal owner of our API ecosystem, ensuring consistent design principles, clear documentation, ease of integration for developers (internal and external), and a smooth API lifecycle management process.

Platform Scalability & Performance:
Prioritize platform initiatives that enhance performance, stability, and scalability, using data to drive decisions on technical debt reduction, system upgrades, and capacity planning.

Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for technical teams, communicating the product vision and priorities, and articulating the value and trade-offs of technical investments to business and executive stakeholders.

Data and Analytics:
Define and monitor technical KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as API uptime, error rates, system utilization, and cost-of-service, using this data to iteratively improve the platform.

Security and Compliance Integration:
Partner with the Compliance and Security teams to ensure that all technical products and platform infrastructure are built with security best practices and meet all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g.,
CBN, NDPR, PCI-DSS
).

Knowledge:

Platform Architecture & Components:
Deep knowledge of the underlying technical products, including payment APIs, data pipelines, internal services, and platform tooling.

FinTech and Regulatory Compliance
: Strong knowledge of the financial technology domain, including payment processing and the mandatory regulatory frameworks like CBN, NDPR, and PCI-DSS.

Software Development and Infrastructure:
A strong understanding of modern software development processes, web services (REST/gRPC), database technologies, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).

API Ecosystem & Governance:
Expertise in API design principles, documentation standards, ease of integration, and best practices for the full API lifecycle management process.

Technical Metrics
: In-depth knowledge of key technical performance indicators (KPIs) used to monitor and improve platform health, such as API uptime, error rates, system utilization, and cost-of-service.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years focused specifically on technical products, platform services, or APIs in a high-growth technology environment.

Deep understanding of software development processes, web services (REST/gRPC), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and database technologies. Experience working as a software developer is a significant advantage.

Experience working with payment processing, banking services, or other regulated financial technologies.
