JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing the financial records, preparing the financial reports, enforcing internal controls, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Provides financial advisory, on-time and reliable financial information to management to aid decision making.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Financial Management & Accounting

• Oversees the day-to-day finance function, maintaining accurate accounting records using Xero accounting software, and ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepares monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and performance dashboards for the Partners.
• Manages vendor payments, payroll, and intercompany transactions across entities.
• Ensures compliance with tax, regulatory, and audit requirements (FIRS, LIRS, CAC, etc.). coordinating with external auditors and tax consultants.

Treasury & Banking

• Manages all banking relationships, ensuring optimal liquidity and cost-efficient operations across multiple accounts and currencies.
• Monitors and forecasts cash flows, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operating and investment activities.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Supports the preparation of the firm's annual budget and periodic forecasts.
• Tracks budget performance, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Provides financial data to management to guide decision making.

Reporting & Internal Controls

• Prepares quarterly and annual financial reports for management, investors, and regulatory purposes.
• Identifies areas of opportunities to improve accounting procedure and financial processes
• Provides on-time and accurate data to management for use.

Strategic Support & Growth

• Works closely with Partners to strengthen financial infrastructure as the firm scales across multiple verticals.
• Provides financial insights to support decision-making across advisory and investment activities.
• Serves as finance liaison between the firm, its investors, auditors, banks, and regulators.

EDUCATION

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field.
• ICAN or ACCA is required
• MBA or CFA is an added advantage

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles within a bank, fund manager, investment firm, or financial advisory company.
• Proven experience with accounting software (preferably Xero) and financial reporting systems.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/Nigerian GAAP).
• Familiarity with financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
• Working understanding of treasury management, FX operations, and corporate banking.
• Knowledge of investment structures (SPVs, funds, holding companies) and consolidation processes.
• Proficiency in Xero, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
