We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Officer to join our hospital's finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare financial regulations, and supporting effective budgeting and cost management within the hospital. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and extensive experience in hospital or healthcare accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
- Monitor hospital revenues, expenses, and financial performance to support decision-making.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare financial policies, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders during financial reviews.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard hospital assets.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting and finance staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a hospital or healthcare organization.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and healthcare compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- The preferred candidate must possess all relevant accounting certifications and professional memberships (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, ANAN).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦800,000.00 per month
