About Our Client

Our client is a fast growing supermarket situated in Ibadan.

Position Overview

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect goods required for uninterrupted FMCG operations. The role ensures cost efficiency, quality compliance, timely delivery, and strong supplier relationships in line with company objectives. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, and have a strong understanding of procurement management principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables in line with production plans.
  • Maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers to ensure consistent supply and quality.
  • Work closely with Warehouse team to forecast material requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to avoid stockouts.
  • Coordinate with various departments to fulfill their supply needs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports on spend, savings, supplier performance, and risks
  • Provide support during internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications

  • 1 year proven experience as a procurement officer (or in a similar role), preferably in a supermarket or retail setting.
  • HND, or a Degree in supply chain management or any related course.
  • Proficiency in computerized inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Driver's License.
