Job Title: Chief Operating Officer

Note: This is a senior, enterprise-level COO role. Candidates without 15+ years of operations leadership experience and direct exposure to scaling businesses in technology, services, manufacturing, or distribution environments will not be considered.

Key Requirements

  • 15–20+ years of progressive experience in operations or general management
  • Proven track record scaling businesses and professionalizing operations
  • Experience translating strategy into execution across multiple functions
  • Strong background in process optimization, performance management, and systems
  • Solid financial acumen (budgeting, cost control, margin improvement)
  • Demonstrated leadership in people, culture, and organizational change
  • Comfortable operating at executive and board level
  • Prior experience in technology, services, manufacturing, or distribution strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred

Role Overview

Manifold Computers Ltd (MCL) is seeking an independent, execution-focused Chief Operating Officer (COO) to build the operational foundation required to support aggressive growth across West Africa.

The COO will have enterprise-wide operational accountability (excluding sales execution and finance) and will play a critical role in translating strategy into disciplined execution. Reporting to the Managing Director (MD) and working closely with the Executive Director (ED), CFO, and future CTO/CSO, the COO will close execution gaps, clarify decision rights, and institutionalize scalable systems, processes, and culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize end-to-end operations across the enterprise
  • Design and implement scalable processes, SOPs, and governance frameworks
  • Establish a structured operating cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly reviews)
  • Align operational execution with sales, marketing, and financial objectives
  • Drive cost optimization and margin improvement initiatives
  • Lead HR policy modernization, talent management, and engagement strategies
  • Partner with the CTO to strengthen enterprise systems and service delivery
  • Provide data-driven operational reporting to executive leadership and the Board
