  • Job Summary

The Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective operation and upkeep of the organization's buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds. The role involves carrying out routine inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, responding promptly to repair requests, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify issues or potential hazards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, painting, and HVAC servicing.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, budgets, and inventory of tools and spare parts.
  • Liaise with external contractors, vendors, and service providers when specialized repairs or services are required.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor utility systems (water, electricity, generator, etc.) to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Make recommendations for improvements, upgrades, and cost-saving maintenance strategies.
  • Assist in facility setup for events, equipment installations, and layout arrangements.

Requirements

  • OND/HND/B.Sc in Engineering, Technical Studies, Facility Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician/officer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and recordkeeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₦95,000.00 per month
