The Community Manager will be central to making this ecosystem come alive.

Role Overview

The Community Manager is responsible for
building, nurturing, and activating the TEDxMaitama community
across online and offline touchpoints. This role goes beyond managing platforms—it is about creating a sense of belonging, driving meaningful engagement, and turning audiences into advocates, collaborators, and long-term partners.

You will work closely with the Curator, Partnerships, Content, and Creative teams to ensure the TEDxMaitama community feels informed, inspired, and involved at every stage of our journey.

Key Responsibilities

Community Building & Engagement

  • Build and manage TEDxMaitama's community across WhatsApp, LinkedIn, email, and other relevant platforms
  • Foster authentic conversations, encourage participation, and maintain a positive, inclusive community culture
  • Welcome new members and ensure they understand TEDxMaitama's mission, values, and opportunities to engage

Content & Communication

  • Share timely updates about events, speaker announcements, opportunities, and partnerships
  • Collaborate with the Content and Creative teams to adapt ideas into community-friendly formats
  • Moderate discussions, respond to messages and comments, and escalate issues when necessary

Events & Activations

  • Support online and offline community activations including salons, webinars, watch parties, and post-event conversations
  • Coordinate community volunteers and ambassadors when required
  • Gather feedback before and after events to improve community experience

Growth & Insights

  • Grow the TEDxMaitama community organically through referrals, partnerships, and collaborations
  • Track engagement metrics and provide insights on what resonates with the community
  • Identify highly engaged members for deeper involvement (volunteers, partners, speakers, advocates)

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing online or offline communities, preferably in media, events, startups, or nonprofit spaces
  • Strong written communication skills with a warm, human tone
  • Ability to manage multiple platforms and conversations simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Genuine interest in ideas, innovation, culture, and impact

Preferred Attributes

  • Familiarity with TED/TEDx values and ecosystem
  • Experience working with founders, creatives, or professional communities
  • Basic understanding of content strategy and social media engagement
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a distributed team
