Tv news anchorHousing TV AfricaMarketing & CommunicationsAbuja Full TimeAdvertising, Media & Communications ConfidentialMinimum Qualification :Experience Level : Senior levelExperience Length : 5 yearsJob Description/RequirementsAfrica's First Housing Television, available on Channel 149 on StarTimes, provides 24/7 news coverage on housing, real estate, mortgages, property, construction, and related areas.Housing TV Africa is dedicated to offering comprehensive and up-to-date information to its viewers.Role DescriptionThe Senior TV Anchor/Reporter serves as a leading on-air personality and field correspondent, responsible for delivering compelling news coverage, in-depth reports, and live broadcasts.The role requires excellent journalistic judgment, presentation skills, and the ability to manage breaking news with accuracy and confidence.Key Responsibilities:Anchor live newscasts, special reports, and breaking news segments with professionalism and authority.Conduct interviews with key newsmakers, experts, and community stakeholders.Research, write, and edit original news stories and feature reports for broadcast and digital platforms.Collaborate with producers, camera crews, and editors to ensure high-quality visual storytelling.Maintain a deep understanding of current affairs, politics, economy, and social issues.Provide mentorship and editorial guidance to junior reporters and production staff.Represent the network at press events, conferences, and public functions.Uphold ethical journalism standards and the organization's editorial policies at all times.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.Minimum of 5-7 years of professional broadcast journalism experience.Proven experience anchoring and reporting live on television.Exceptional verbal communication and on-camera presence.Strong news judgment, storytelling ability, and attention to detail.Proficiency in newsroom software and digital news production tools.Preferred Skills:Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Confident handling of live interviews and breaking news situations.Strong editorial instincts and a passion for impactful storytelling.Multimedia skills (social media, podcasting, or online video reporting) are a plus.
