To support the Finance team in Maiduguri, a Finance Assistant will provide comprehensive information and clerical services to the Finance team in Malteser International. The role involves various duties and tasks, including:
- Providing efficient information and clerical services to support the Finance team in executing processes and delivering services.
- Delivering quality support applying clearly defined accounting and financial reporting processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Updating a payment tracker and sharing a weekly progress report with the Program Administrator and line manager.
- Performing data entry for financial transactions recording.
- Completing standard financial documents following a sample template.
- Providing administrative and clerical support for financial transaction processing.
- Filing accounting and financial reporting documentation as instructed.
- Compiling supporting documentation for financial transactions and communicating with staff and suppliers.
- Receiving and dispensing petty cash payments and coordinating proper retirement of accounting.
We are seeking a candidate with:
- A B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- A minimum of two years' work experience in a similar role with standard accounting practices.
- Experience using MS Office packages, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills with great attention to details.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and results-oriented approach.
- Teamwork and excellent presentational skills.
