Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lathe and Milling Machine Supervisor to join our team at Viju Industires Nigeria Limited. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of conventional lathes and milling machines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating manual/semi-automatic lathe and milling machines with precision and accuracy.

• Performing routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting common mechanical failures, and making necessary repairs.

• Reading mechanical drawings (CAD drawings preferred) and using measuring tools such as vernier calipers and micrometers to ensure accurate part machining.

• Knowledge of metal material properties (e.g., steel, aluminum, copper) and ability to adjust cutting parameters (speed, feed rate) accordingly.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience operating grinding machines, drilling machines, and wire-cut EDM machines would be an asset.

• Basic electrical knowledge to assist electricians in handling simple circuit issues.

• Proficiency in welding (electric welding, TIG welding) or bench fitting skills.

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Possession of an intermediate or higher vocational qualification certificate for lathe/milling/bench fitting (e.g., National Occupational Qualification Level 4).

• Special operation certificates (e.g., electrician certificate, welding certificate) are preferred.

Personal Qualities:

• Strong sense of responsibility, safety awareness, and ability to adapt to workshop environments (noise, oil stains, etc.).

• Hands-on ability, logical thinking, and capability to solve problems independently.

• Willingness to work in shifts and accept overtime assignments as needed.

Other Requirements:

• Age: 25-45 years (subject to physical labor intensity).

• Good physical health, no color blindness, no fear of heights, and ability to lift items up to 50 kg.

• Local residents or long-term residents preferred.
