Job Summary
The Senior Child Protection Specialist will be responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight on the implementation of community-based reintegration programs for children associated with armed groups. You will work closely with government counterparts, NGOs, and other stakeholders to strengthen coordination and networking efforts. Your expertise will help ensure that children receive quality preventive and responsive child protection services at the community level.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the government and partners in implementing community-based reintegration programs
- Strengthen collaboration between reintegration activities and other sectors, including education and health
- Build and sustain effective partnerships with government counterparts, state-level stakeholders, and other relevant organizations
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to assess progress and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with the MEAL team to establish monitoring benchmarks and performance indicators
- Participate in strategic program discussions and provide quality inputs in the formulation of project activities and workplans
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in conflict management, international law, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with the UN and/or NGOs, with a significant portion in child protection
- Strong understanding of national and international child rights legislation and frameworks
- Demonstrable training and capacity-building skills for a range of stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
