Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Telecommunications Field Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and troubleshooting telecommunication network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on telecommunication equipment, including base stations, antennas, towers, and other network components.
  2. Diagnose and resolve issues related to network outages, equipment failures, and other technical problems to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  3. Assist in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of network equipment and infrastructure to support new services and technologies.
  4. Respond promptly to network emergencies, including system outages and equipment malfunctions, providing on-site support to restore services as quickly as possible.
  5. Conduct tests and calibrations on network equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades, including reporting any issues or recommendations for improvements.
  7. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance work, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.
  8. Work closely with network engineers, operations teams, and third-party contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure seamless network operations.
  9. Provide technical support and assistance to customers when required, ensuring a high level of service satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in field maintenance or a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunication equipment, including RF systems, transmission lines, power systems, and fiber optics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with network management systems and software.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations, especially concerning working at heights and in remote locations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work in various environments, including outdoor and remote locations.
  • Relevant certifications in telecommunications, network maintenance, or related areas (e.g., Certified Tower Climber, Electrical Safety Certification) are preferred.
