IT Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Support Assistant to join our team at THE BIBLE SOCIETY OF NIGERIA. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance, help maintain IT systems, and ensure efficient and effective IT operations.
Main Responsibilities- Provide timely and professional technical support to staff, addressing and resolving IT-related issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Assist in setting up and configuring new user accounts, workstations, and IT equipment to ensure seamless integration with our existing systems.
- Conduct regular system audits and backups to guarantee data integrity and security, adhering to industry best practices and standards.
- Help install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Assist in monitoring and managing network devices and performing regular network maintenance to prevent potential issues.
- Educate users on best practices for handling ICT tools and maintaining data security, promoting a culture of awareness and responsibility.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and issues to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Work closely with the IT Administrator to support various IT projects and initiatives, leveraging expertise and resources to achieve shared goals.
- An Associate degree in Information Technology, ND in Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a technical support role or similar position, demonstrating a track record of success and growth.
- A basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and computer hardware/software, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on quality and precision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- The ability to work well in a team and follow instructions, with a commitment to collaboration and mutual support.
- Familiarity with domain environments and common business applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Basic knowledge of network security and administration, with a focus on preventing threats and vulnerabilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals), demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
