At Global Peace Development, we are seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist to join our team. This is a critical role that will play a key part in developing and implementing our communication strategy.

About the Role

The Communications Specialist will work closely with our Communications Coordinator and State Coordinators to develop and implement effective communication strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening internal and external communications within the state of deployment, including writing and editing publications such as briefs, reports, and newsletters.

The position holder will also work with the media to build strategic relationships and provide direction for constructive engagement with critical stakeholders that increases GPD visibility within and outside the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication for Development: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to achieve project goals.
  • Social Media / Network: Manage and grow GPD's online presence through social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Constructive Engagement of Critical Stakeholders: Work with stakeholders to build strong relationships and increase GPD visibility.
  • Written and Multimedia Content Development and Publication: Develop and publish written and multimedia content to increase GPD's online presence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication or Other Communication Studies: A degree in mass communication or a related field is essential.
  • Professional Experience in Communications for Development, Media, and Public Relations: At least 1-2 years of experience in communications for development, media, and public relations is required.
  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Fluency in Written and Spoken English: Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
