Our Client is a leading freight forwarder based in Lagos Nigeria, specializing in comprehensive logistics solutions that encompasses air, sea, and land transportation. With a strong network of global partners and a dedicated team of industry experts. They provide seamless and efficient services tailored to meet the diverse needs of their client across international freight forwarding (Air, Sea & Land), customs brokerage and clearing, bonded and free zone warehousing, NVOCC representation, courier and express delivery, importer of record (IOR) services, project cargo and heavy-duty transport
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for our Apapa operations with established connections in the logistics, freight, or trade ecosystem. This is a high-impact, target-driven role for a commercially minded professional who can win new B2B business, manage relationships, and drive trade volumes. You will serve as our client's primary commercial representative, generating leads, closing deals, and building a long-term portfolio of clients
What you'll do
- Source and secure new business across freight, courier, warehousing, and project logistics
- Lead client acquisition, contract negotiation, and onboarding
- Represent Prime Next at industry events, trade forums, and client meetings
- Collaborate with operations for seamless service delivery
- Submit weekly activity reports to senior management
- Drive growth in line with company sales goals and defined KPIs
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years' experience in B2B logistics, freight, or courier sales
- Proven track record in high-value deal conversion
- Deep understanding of port operations, customs clearance, and the delivery chain
- Must have existing leads or ability to generate business within weeks
- Structured, fast-thinking, and self-driven
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) with strong presentation skills
