JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Production Technologist (Opportunity Development) will interface between the technical department disciplines (Production Engineering, Subsurface and Portfolio Management) and the Well Intervention Execution Team. They will work with the WRFM teams on well intervention opportunities, by providing technical assurance of the intervention proposals. They are responsible for the maturation of the intervention opportunity funnel through to execution, ensuring that all resources and requirements (including regulatory approvals) are provided. Additionally, they will be accountable for the production technology studies/input to new opportunity development for production growth and asset optimization such as field development studies, new well development for oil/gas growth and produced water management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conceptual well & completion design, field development studies, reservoir management/production optimization, and well operations support. They should also be able to oversee and implement cutting-edge technologies/strategies for well performance, monitoring and enhanced recovery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Technical assurance of well intervention scopes – ensure technical and operational feasibility
• Develop (own), maintain and optimize the well intervention sequence, ensuring production growth targets are met
• Plan for execution of intervention of intervention activities
• Be responsible for ensuring well intervention proposal approvals and other statutory permits (e.g. NNRA) are obtained in a timely fashion and ensure there are no non-productive gaps in the sequence
• Technically assure the design of service (DOS) prepared by service providers
• Lead pre-job QA/QC of vendor equipment and capabilities and develop contingencies as may be required
• Leadership role in well intervention operations audits, including service providers and personnel competence to ensure best-in-class practices
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company HSE and well integrity standards and at as well integrity technical authority
• Provide well interventions operations support by proffering engineering and technical solutions to well intervention challenges.
• Interface proactively with other Company functions (Contracting & Procurement, HSE, Production Engineering, Community Relations, Finance, etc.) to ensure Well Intervention requirements are provided for promptly
• Monitor well intervention performance and issue technical reports accordingly
• Single-point responsibility for well intervention post-jobs reports, ensuring they are comprehensive, and that relevant data and databases are updated accordingly (e.g. well status diagrams, well books, etc.)
• Lead (with Well Interventions Execution Lead) AAR's and disseminate lessons learned within organisation, JV and to service providers, ensuring modifications to operational procedures for continuous improvement in safety and efficiency
• Represent Company at meetings with JV partners and Regulatory bodies as subject matter expert on well intervention activities.
• Support the formulation of field development plans, including identifying key well management strategies and lifecycle well/reservoir surveillance and flow assurance requirements
• Production Technology input to proposals for new production growth opportunities, workovers and new wells. Actively participate in decisions on well targeting, well development and production strategies based on comprehensive data analysis
• Deliver conceptual well completion designs for new developments and support well engineering in delivering detailed well designs
• Ensure well completions are designed to maximize recovery while minimizing operational risks and costs
• Provide production technology input to completion programs and support well operations
• Responsible for new well/workover completion proposals development and approvals
• Co-ordinate new well start-ups – interface with all relevant parties: wells, operations, operations support, projects and subsurface. Determine well operating envelopes from unloading and testing data
• Develop PT input for Basis for Design for integrated projects
• Seek out, oversee and implement cutting-edge technologies and strategies for improved well performance, monitoring, and enhanced recovery
• Manage External stake holders and Regulatory Agencies e.g. technical engagements etc. and ensure delivery of relevant approvals and timely approvals of permits.

QUALIFICATION

Key qualifications for this role are:

• Bachelor's in engineering or other related fields.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience as a Production Technologist in the oil and gas industry, with a broad understanding of other E&P disciplines
• Strong expertise in well completion design, well operations and flow assurance
• Strong expertise in well inflow/outflow modelling and enhancement. Strong emphasis on demonstrated skill in selecting and improving artificial lift methods
• Skilled at sand control methods evaluation and sand management
• Skilled in well integrity management
• Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams on well, reservoir and facilities management. Previous experience of working of field development studies, integrated projects or production growth projects is an advantage
• Strong communication skills, with experience in presenting technical findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders
• Results oriented with strong interpersonal skills to manage variety of interfaces
