About VivaFemini

VivaFemini is building Africa's leading digital health ecosystem for women — trusted, culturally relevant, and privacy‑first care at your fingertips.

We are a pre‑seed, high‑growth digital health startup on a mission to make women's healthcare accessible, safe, and dignified across Africa. We're looking for a hands‑on professional with strong technical, quality assurance, and compliance experience to help us build a dependable, secure, and audit‑ready platform as we approach launch.

Why This Role Matters

  • Cross‑functional impact:
You'll ensure our digital health products are robust, secure, and compliant — directly supporting safe, high‑quality care for women.
  • Hybrid scope:
Blend IT systems management, software QA, and regulatory compliance in one high‑ownership, high‑impact role.
  • Flexible engagement
: Work on a fractional basis with clear deliverables tied to milestones.
  • Growth runway
: Opportunity to evolve into a QA & Compliance Lead or Technical Operations Manager as we scale and onboard full‑time roles.

The Role

You will serve as VivaFemini's bridge between technology, compliance, and operations — supporting IT systems, managing product quality assurance (QA), and ensuring we meet data protection, security, and clinical governance standards.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams to validate features, test workflows, and maintain audit‑ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities

IT Systems Management

  • Set up, configure, and manage business IT platforms (Microsoft 365, Zoho, Google Workspace, Slack, etc.).
  • Manage user permissions, troubleshoot account issues, and maintain secure access controls.
  • Implement best practices for device management, data security, and backup integrity.

Software QA & Testing

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to review specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and execute test cases for web/mobile apps; log defects, verify fixes, and track resolutions.
  • Maintain QA documentation and regression test libraries; ensure new releases meet pre‑launch standards.
  • Automate routine QA checks where possible using available low‑code tools (e.g., Zapier, Power Automate).

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Monitor product and data practices for compliance with NDPR, GDPR, and relevant health data regulations.
  • Support internal audits, DPIAs, and incident response documentation.
  • Maintain privacy and security compliance registers; ensure all policies and documentation are up to date.
  • Conduct internal reviews before each release to ensure security and compliance readiness.

Training & Culture

  • Train team members on data protection, cybersecurity, and quality best practices.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and accountability within product and operations.
  • Support risk communication and readiness for external reviews or audits.

Who You Are

  • 3–7 years of experience in IT systems management, software QA/testing, or digital compliance (healthtech or SaaS preferred).
  • Strong technical understanding of business IT environments (Microsoft 365, Zoho, Google Workspace, Notion, etc.).
  • Hands‑on experience in manual and/or automated testing, bug tracking, and release management.
  • Familiarity with NDPR, GDPR, HIPAA, or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Detail‑oriented, analytical, and dependable.
  • Can bridge conversations between technical and non‑technical teams clearly.
  • Bonus: Experience with automation, process auditing, or cloud security certifications.

What Success Looks Like (KPIs)

  • 100% of critical IT and compliance issues resolved within SLA.
  • ≥ 95% test case coverage for all new features and releases.
  • Zero critical privacy or security breaches per quarter.
  • All product releases pass compliance and QA review before launch.
  • Audit‑ready documentation maintained at all times.

Engagement & Compensation Structure

  • Engagement Type: Fractional / project‑based with flexible scheduling.
  • Compensation: Deferred arrangement — contributions recorded as performance credits, convertible into bonus or other rewards post‑launch or after successful fundraise, subject to Board approval.
  • Performance Bonus: May apply upon achieving defined KPIs or successful product launch milestones.
  • Equity or Full‑Time Transition: Considered at a later stage upon successful fundraising and Board approval.

Why Join VivaFemini

  • Impact: Be part of a bold mission improving women's health outcomes across Africa.
  • Autonomy: A self‑directed role focused on results and deliverables.
  • Growth: Shape a crucial cross‑functional function early in the company's journey.
  • Collaboration: Work directly with leadership and technical teams building a product that matters.

How to Apply

  • Email your CV and a short note outlining:
  • 2–3 relevant projects you've led or supported (QA, compliance, or IT infrastructure)
  • Your preferred engagement model and availability
  • Your expectations for deferred compensation or milestone‑linked incentives
