Location: Flexible (Mali, Niger, or Nigeria field office)

PURPOSE:

The Regional Resource Mobilization Coordinator will lead the organization's efforts to secure and grow institutional funding to sustain and expand humanitarian, development, and nexus programming in fragile and conflict-affected states (Niger, Mali, Burkina and Nigeria). This role will focus on developing high-quality, competitive funding proposals, strengthening donor engagement strategies, and building organizational capacity for institutional fundraising. Specifically, the Coordinator will be responsible for leading search for grant opportunities and concept/proposal development for WAMT. S/he will work closely with WAMT teams and Program Excellence/Transformational Development Team in the process of opportunity identification and assessment, development and writing of grant concept/proposal, provision of guidance and support on resources and tools on donor compliance. In addition, this person will collaborate closely with regional, country level and global technical leads (MEAL, Gender-Justice, Safeguarding, Compliance), finance teams, and country offices to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures, program strategy and priorities and compliance requirements. The coordinator must adhere to the organization's safeguarding and ethical guidelines, ensuring that all fundraising materials and donor communications respect the dignity, rights, and safety of communities served.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Strategic Resource Mobilization

  • Lead the development and implementation a West Africa regional institutional fundraising strategy aligned with WR organizational strategy and priorities.
  • Search, Map and track funding opportunities for West Africa from bilateral, multilateral, and foundation donors (e.g., USAID, ECHO, FCDO, UN agencies, GAC, EU etc.), in close coordination with global grants staff.
  • Build and maintain a regional donor intelligence database with profiles, priorities, and deadlines that will feed into Global Database for grant opportunities and donor mapping.
  • Assess and analyze opportunities for financial viability and efficient resource allocations that yield the most effective return on investment. Develop key performance indicators in conjunction with global grants staff to support long term sustainable funds acquisition.
  • Develop value add propositions for World Renew country program teams and partners; build capacity to strengthen the value and impact of World Renew programs.

B. Proposal Leadership and Coordination

  • Lead the design, writing, and coordination of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest for West Africa, and support global initiatives for multi country proposals lead by other World Renew departments.
  • Ensure proposals reflect technical excellence and have strong narratives, evidence, and realistic budgets.
  • Manage proposal development processes, ensuring timely submission and internal quality reviews.
  • Manage coordination with global, regional and country grants and program staff/focal points, specifically for MEAL, gender and technical assistance, as well as the finance department.

C. Donor Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with institutional donors and partners focused on West Africa, to strengthen the organization's positioning in the region.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for donor meetings and regional leadership.
  • Monitor donor trends to proactively identify emerging opportunities and contribute information to global donor mapping tools and databases
  • Proactive outreach and networking with donors and stakeholders (for consortium building/collaboration), in collaboration with key stakeholders within WAMT specifically Regional Director and Country Directors.

D. Collaboration and Capacity Building

  • Work closely with MEAL staff to integrate evidence, data, and learning into design and development of concepts and proposals.
  • Partner with finance and compliance teams to ensure proposal budgets meet donor requirements.
  • Initiate and Support capacity-building initiatives (coaching, mentorship and learning sessions) for country teams and local partners in proposal writing, donor compliance, and reporting standards.

E. Reporting and Knowledge Management

  • Develop and update country and region-wide Capability Statements
  • Manage working groups to contribute knowledge and data to statements, maintain updating of data every two years and dissemination of materials.
  • Maintain a central repository of proposals, templates, and success stories.
  • Support the development of high-quality donor reports and success stories to maintain strong relationships.
  • Document lessons learned from proposal development cycles to improve efficiency and competitiveness
  • Share best practices and lessons learned with other regional grants staff, participate in Community of Practices and contribute to Global Grants Strategy at the international level (in collaboration with World Renew North America).

Key Deliverables

  • Submission of an average of six or more competitive proposals annually to institutional donors.
  • Quarterly funding pipeline reports and donor intelligence briefs.
  • Capacity-building sessions for country and partner teams on grant development.
  • Repository of reusable templates and success stories for proposal development.

  6. Strong knowledge of donor compliance and contracting requirements.

  7. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in both English and French.

  8. Familiarity with programming in fragile, conflict-affected, or humanitarian contexts, specifically West Africa.

  9. Familiarity with donor portals and CRM systems.

  10. Experience working in consortiums or multi-country program development.

  11. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align fundraising strategies with organizational strategy, priorities and donor trends.

  12. Collaborative Leadership: Works effectively with diverse, cross-functional international / global teams in multiple countries.

  13. Analytical Skills: Can synthesize complex information into compelling proposals.

  14. Adaptability: Thrives under pressure and adjusts quickly to shifting donor priorities.

  15. Integrity: Upholds the highest ethical standards in fundraising and communication.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in international development, Communications, Economics, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum/Average of 6-10 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or resource mobilization for NGOs or international agencies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in both English and French required.
