Job Purpose:

The Loan Field Risk Officer is responsible for performing second-level Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and field risk assessment for loan applicants. The role ensures that all loan disbursements meet company risk standards through accurate verification, detailed due diligence, and field investigations. This position serves as a critical support role within the Risk Department, with an opportunity for career growth into a full Risk Officer position based on performance and competence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conductsecond-level KYC verificationfor loan applicants and guarantors through physical address visits and field checks.
  • Validate the authenticity of provided customer information (residential, business, and guarantor addresses).
  • Assess and document thecreditworthiness and risk exposure of potential and existing clients.
  • Identify potential red flags or inconsistencies in loan applications and report findings promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Credit, Collection, and Underwriting teams to ensure loan quality and reduce default risk.
  • Ensure all field risk assessments are completed within approved turnaround time (TAT).
  • Prepare and submit daily field risk reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and verification outcomes.
  • Monitor portfolio quality through periodic field visits to high-risk customers and flagged accounts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company risk policies and regulatory standards.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve field verification processes and risk control frameworks.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • B.Sc./HND/OND in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or any related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years' experience in credit risk assessment, loan verification, or field risk operations (preferably in a financial institution or fintech).
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word.
  • Must be detail-oriented, disciplined, and trustworthy.
  • Willingness to work on the field and travel to client locations as required.
