Business Development Executive

Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing financial services company dedicated to providing accessible and innovative credit solutions to businesses in Nigeria. They are a key player in the SME lending space, empowering companies to achieve their growth objectives.
To drive their expansion, they are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Executive. This role is central to the company's growth strategy, focusing on identifying new market opportunities, building a robust sales pipeline, and fostering strong client relationships. This is a fantastic opportunity for a sales professional with a passion for finance to join a high-performing team and make a direct contribution to the company's success. The role is based in Lagos.

- Which of the following products do you have direct experience selling: LPO financing, invoice discounting, asset financing, or project financing? Please describe your experience.

- Are you available to work full-time from our client's office in Lagos?
- What are your salary expectations and current notice period/availability?
- Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in line with the company's strategic goals.
- Generate leads and convert them into active clients for products such as LPO financing, invoice discounting, and asset financing.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients to foster business growth.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Credit and Risk, to ensure a seamless and efficient service delivery process.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify expansion opportunities.
- Consistently meet and exceed individual and team sales targets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of proven experience in a business development, sales, or relationship management role, preferably within a financial institution or fintech.
- A strong understanding of SME financial products and the lending lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- A goal-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for results.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software is an advantage.
- Previous experience working in fintech, start-up/scale-up environment would give you an added advantage.
