Our client is a key player in the financial service sector. They are currently looking to hire a Head, subsidiary finance. JOB OBJECTIVE: To co -ordinate subsidiaries 'financial management and regulatory reporting system (Management reporting and review, statutory reporting and compliance returns, budget and budget control) to ensure business integrity, enable profitable and sustainable growth and shareholder value creation. ACCOUNTABILITIES  1. Coordinate the preparation of periodic management account and analysis. 2. Coordinate timely preparation of Group ExCo Report with analysis to aid Management decision in line with set targets. 3. Prepare Interim Financial Statements for the holding company as well as group financials and analysis. 4. Set -up accounting system for new subsidiaries and coordinate the preparation/ review of other subsidiaries account. 5. Prepare board reports with analysis of variance with previous month and Budget; highlighting level of achievement on previously communicated initiatives and new strategies by Opco Business teams to improve performance. 6. Oversee the application of new relevant IFRSs, compliance with regulatory guidelines, proper classification, and mapping of SFP and SOCI items in financial Statements. 7. Develop subordinates' skills and competencies by planning development activities related to current & future job responsibilities. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS FINANCIAL - Cost savings - Company profitability PROCESS & OTHERS - Develop relationships across Opco Departments to maintain information flow crucial to the accuracy of financial records Zero tolerance for inaccurate reports - Ensure adequate internal control in all accounting processes. - Weekly Income/cost assurance to prevent income leakage. - Validation of output from third -party applications reported. - Timely and accurate monthly financial reports at Group level (to EXCO and Board), - Minimal audit adjustments on account of financial reporting including consolidated SFP, consolidated P/L, and consolidated Cash Flow  REQUIRED COMPETENCIES FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: - Strategy Execution - Policy Formulation & Implementation - Understanding of CBN guidelines - Financial Accounting - Financial Reporting - Corporate Finance - Financial Modeling - Data/Information Management - Fixed Assets Accounting - Management Accounting - Stakeholder Management - Knowledge of Relevant Regulations & Provisions GENERAL COMPETENCIES - Communication Skills - Reporting BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES - Interpersonal Relations - Initiative - Decision quality & Problem solving - Time & Self -Management ORGANIZATIONAL COMPETENCIES - Attention to Detail (Excellence) - Continuous Learning - Drive for Results (Efficiency) - Customer focus
