Job Description

  • We are looking for a Data Analytics Manager, Credit Risk to join our Credit Risk & Analytics team as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
  • Leading portfolio analytics and strategic credit evaluation, you will bridge sophisticated data science with actionable business strategy, managing the analysis and communication of credit performance across M-KOPA's growing consumer finance portfolio.
  • Your work will directly influence how we responsibly serve millions of customers, translating complex credit data into executive insights that shape our risk appetite and growth trajectory.
  • Your technical toolkit includes SQL, Python or R, Power BI, and Excel—and you know how to use them to evaluate performance, build models, and tell compelling stories with data.
  • You understand business fundamentals like ROI analysis, discounted cash flow, causality, and statistical significance.
  • Perhaps most importantly, you can translate technical subject matter into clear communications for non-technical stakeholders, influencing decisions at the highest levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • We're looking for someone who has spent 6-10 years in analytical roles within consumer credit, asset finance, pricing, data science, or strategy consulting, including experience managing teams, portfolios, and projects.
  • You're comfortable working in emerging markets and understand the unique dynamics of consumer credit in these contexts—this real-world experience matters as much as your technical capabilities.
  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field—economics, econometrics, data analytics, computer science, statistics, engineering, finance, or behavioural psychology.
  • Beyond credentials, you have strong interpersonal and presentation skills that allow you to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels.
