Aruwa is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its team in Lagos, Nigeria. Reporting to the Founder & Managing Partner, the Finance Manager will lead the entire financial accounting and reporting process for all Aruwa entities in Nigeria and Mauritius (the "Group"), in accordance with IFRS and other applicable regulatory rules and laws for financial and tax reporting purposes.

Financial Accounting & Reporting

·       Lead and oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly fund capital accounts, and annual financial statements for all entities in Nigeria and Mauritius, in compliance with IFRS and other relevant local regulations.

·       Prepare consolidated Group financials and ensure accurate intercompany reconciliations.

·       Drive the design and implementation of an accounting ERP system for the Aruwa Nigerian entity.

·       Liaise with external auditors in Aruwa's relevant jurisdictions to coordinate annual audits and ensure timely completion.

Fund Operations

·       Work closely with Aruwa's Fund Administrators in Mauritius to review NAV calculations, investor statements and quarterly capital accounts.

·       Coordinate capital call and distribution notices, ensuring compliance with Aruwa's Limited Partnership Agreement (LPA) provisions and accurate investor allocations.

·       Maintain robust cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting models to support capital call management.

Compliance, Audit & Controls

·       Set up the firm's internal audit function in Nigeria and Mauritius, ranging from policies, monitoring, controls, review to risk mitigation frameworks.

·       Oversee tax and all related compliance fillings across Aruwa's relevant jurisdictions, ensuring that all regulatory and statutory compliance requirements are met.

·       Implement recommendations and findings from internal and external audit reports, ensuring timely remediation of control gaps.

·       Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains within finance.

Stakeholder Management & Investor Reporting

·       Act as key liaison for all finance-related matters with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to investors, auditors, administrators, regulators, fund administrators and banking partners.

·       Support investor reporting, due diligence requests, LP queries.

·       Produce materials for Aruwa's Board, LPAC and as otherwise required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

·       
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is required.

·       
8-10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or fund administration; experience working in private equity or venture capital is ideal. 

·       
Proven experience managing multi-jurisdictional entities in Nigeria, Mauritius, or other offshore domiciles; comfortable coordinating with administrators, auditors, regulators and other stakeholders.

·       
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and fund accounting concepts (capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, LP reporting) is essential.

·       
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices, and regulatory requirements in Nigeria and Mauritius. 

·       
Advanced Excel, modelling, and experience with financial systems/ERPs is a plus.

·       
Must be Lagos-based; must have local citizenship or valid work authorization.
