About the Role:
Our client is in search of a Business Development, Bid & Procurement manager who will be responsible for driving business growth, leading tender/bid activities, and managing strategic sourcing for project execution. This role ensures seamless coordination between commercial strategy, bid quality, procurement efficiency, and operational success in the EPCI space.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives in the oil & gas sector.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities with IOCs, NOCs, EPC firms, and key government agencies.
- Build strong client relationships and represent Bocop Energy at high-level meetings, industry events, and regulatory sessions.
- Track industry intelligence, project announcements, and partnerships that align with the company's service capabilities.
- Lead the preparation and submission of EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, and ITTs, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate inputs from Engineering, HSE, commercial, and legal teams for accurate and compelling proposals.
- Develop competitive pricing strategies and ensure all bids meet NIPEX, NCDMB, and local content expectations.
- Oversee internal bid review processes and ensure timely submissions with strong win strategies.
- Manage the procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontracted services in line with project needs.
- Develop and maintain a qualified vendor/supplier base, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and manage risks across the procurement cycle.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project schedules and budgetary requirements.
- Supervise and mentor teams in business development, tendering, and procurement functions.
- Establish and maintain SOPs, workflows, and reporting systems for the three departments.
- Ensure effective collaboration and communication across departments to meet operational and strategic goals.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and submit periodic reports to Executive Management.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
- 5–7 years of business development or commercial experience within the oil and gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry dynamics (upstream, midstream, downstream).
- Demonstrated success in securing projects, partnerships, or strategic accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen and deal-closing abilities.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards, and project finance basics.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Technical understanding of oil and gas operations (added advantage).
- Experience with large-scale project bids, EPC contracts, or joint ventures.
- Knowledge of emerging trends (e.g., gas monetization, energy transition technologies).
