Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a
Senior iOS Developer
located in Abuja. The Senior iOS Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of high-quality iOS applications, delivering secure, performant, and intuitive mobile experiences. This role provides technical leadership within the mobile engineering team, mentors junior developers, and collaborates closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA teams. The Senior iOS Developer plays a critical role in defining mobile development standards, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring best practices across the iOS Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands-on expertise in building, shipping, and maintaining production-grade iOS applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit, with a solid understanding of Apple's iOS frameworks (e.g., Combine, Core Data, Core Animation).
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performance iOS applications following Apple Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Deep understanding of iOS application architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVC, VIPER, or Clean Architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), protocol-oriented programming, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs, handling JSON, and working with backend services.
  • Familiarity with local and remote data storage solutions, including Core Data, SQLite, and caching mechanisms.
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and iOS-focused automation tools (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions).
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in cross-functional product teams.
  • Experience with automated testing (unit tests, UI tests) using XCTest or similar frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based services and mobile backend integrations (e.g., Firebase, AWS, or similar platforms).
  • Strong debugging, performance optimization, and memory management skills.

  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level iOS developers, promoting best practices and raising overall team capability.
