Role Description

This full-time, on-site role based in Abuja is for a Sous Chef for Rooja's Luxury Lifestyle Management Company's client. The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining high standards. Responsibilities will include supervising kitchen staff, managing food inventory and storage, ensuring cleanliness and food safety compliance, and contributing to menu development. The Sous Chef will support in training programs and ensure efficient workflow in a high-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong culinary skills, including cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating
  • Knowledge of kitchen management, workflow coordination, and food safety standards
  • Experience in inventory control, procurement, and managing kitchen supplies
  • Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff and promote teamwork
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative approach to menu development and food presentation
  • Flexibility to work in a high-pressure setting; leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role; formal culinary training is a plus
  • Commitment to maintaining quality control and customer satisfaction
