Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria Divest Full time

Divest

is a financial technology company based in Lagos, Nigeria, focused on bridging the gap between cryptocurrency and local fiat currency across Africa.

We provide a seamless and instant way for African crypto users to convert digital assets into local currency, enabling direct transfers to bank accounts and mobile wallets.

At Divest, we are reimagining the future of financial access. Our mission is to eliminate barriers posed by traditional financial institutions, allowing individuals and businesses to transact with speed, security, and confidence.

Our vision

is to empower people and businesses across Africa by making cryptocurrency conversion simple, fast, and accessible—driving financial inclusion and unlocking new economic opportunities.

We believe in building tools that are not only powerful but also meaningful—tools that meet people where they are and help them move forward. We value innovation, trust, and clarity. And above all, we are committed to creating an inclusive financial future for every African, one transaction at a time.

At Divest, we don't just see possibilities—we create them.

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Growth Marketing Manager to lead and scale Divest's marketing efforts across Africa. This is a strategic yet hands-on role designed for a high-performing individual who understands crypto, loves data, and knows how to build brands in fast-paced environments. You'll be responsible for taking our current marketing foundation and amplifying it, driving awareness, acquisition, and user engagement across diverse African markets. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of marketing in the fintech/crypto space and is passionate about shaping how Africans access and use digital assets.

Job Expectations

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth marketing strategy to expand Divest's user base across African markets.
  • Build and own Divest's end-to-end marketing strategy, from brand positioning to performance marketing.
  • Design and run growth-focused campaigns across paid media (Google, Meta, X, TikTok), social media, influencer, and community channels.
  • Define and refine Divest's value proposition per market, ensuring localized and resonant messaging.
  • Build a content and storytelling engine through newsletters, blogs, PR, and educational threads.
  • Create and manage marketing campaigns for new product launches and key feature updates.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Sales to align on customer insights, acquisition funnels, and cross-functional growth loops.
  • Represent Divest in events, online communities, and podcasts to boost brand visibility and trust.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance metrics to optimize ROI and channel efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with crypto, fintech, and payment trends relevant to Divest's audience.

Critical Competencies

  • 5+ years of experience in growth or digital marketing, ideally in fintech, crypto, or tech startups.
  • Proven track record of executing campaigns that deliver measurable user and revenue growth.
  • Experience managing multi-country marketing initiatives and adapting strategies to different African markets.
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, digital acquisition, and performance optimization.
  • Data-driven mindset and the ability to interpret marketing analytics and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and project management skills.

Cultural Competencies

  • Entrepreneurial and experimental — thrives in a startup environment.
  • Bias for action and growth, not afraid to fail fast and learn quickly.
  • Mission-driven and passionate about expanding financial access in Africa.
  • You work well with people of different backgrounds, identities, values, and cultures
  • You listen well, seek to understand, and respond with empathy
  • You give and take constructive feedback to and from colleagues at any level
  • You are extremely curious and love working collaboratively
  • A knack for continuous growth, learning, and knowledge sharing
