Head of Information Technology

Role Objectives:

• Defining and implementing the IT Strategy and policy direction for technology usage across the Group
• Deploy and manage technology to support the Group's business strategy. This includes enterprise, branch, desktop software applications, data center, network infrastructure, voice and data communications, and disaster recovery.
• Ensuring that the Group's information technology activities are secured and stable and used to help maximize profits in line with best practice.

Relationship Management:

• Develop relationships internally and externally with the key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for maximizing profit/ROI
• Attend regular team meetings and action issues raised
• Respond quickly to any enquiry from other subsidiaries
• Deliver quarterly KPI's for direct reports

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the IT function and development of projects and programs to deliver the Group's corporate objectives
• Establish IT policies and standards for system, Infrastructure and solution and monitor for full compliance
• Develops and implement IT architecture strategy to accommodate current and future organizational need
• Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including vendors and partner organizations (dealers).
• Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including vendors and partner organizations (dealers) to achieve cost goals
• Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
• Build and manage a top-flight technology team and oversee research and development as well as project management
• Lead the execution of technology strategy for technology platforms, partnership and external relationship
• Review technical designs created for conformance to development standards, appropriate design choices
• Monitor, manage, and enhance Futureview's technical infrastructure to improve critical business drivers, minimize costs, and maximize uptime and security.
• Plan, analyze, and deploy new technology projects to increase revenue and gross margins, and reduce operating costs including initiatives such as the point of sale devices, ATM cards, the coy intranet and internet, website maintenance and internet banking
• Establish, manage, and publish operating metrics for IT group
• Manage the IT support and operations staff
• Work with HR to hire, develop, and train the IT staff to provide an efficient and effective workforce
• Work with business heads to review existing processes to ensure the efficient use of the company's resources (reduce cycle time, variance, handoffs, manual processes, etc.)
• Formulate appropriate IT policies and procedures to provide user friendly guidance for the appropriate use of the Bank's IT resources
• Establish IT policies and standards for system, Infrastructure and solution and monitor for full compliance
• Develop and implement IT architecture strategy to accommodate current and future organizational needs
• Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
• Utilize ingenuity and inventive thinking to evaluate options for design and deriving the best solution based on sound analytical judgment, team input and the customers' best interest.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Qualification/Experience:

A good first degree/HND in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field

A relevant Masters' degree or an MBA from a leading University

Professional Membership

A recognized professional certification will be an added advantage e.g. in ITIL, CISA, CISM or Cisco series examinations will be an added advantage

Minimum Qualification

Minimum of 6-10 years post qualification experience in IT function of Financial Institution or Bank, of which at least 5 years must have been as a Head, Information Technology
