About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end setup and launch of a digital bank in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all aspects of the project—from regulatory licensing to technology implementation, product rollout, and operational readiness.

This role requires a deep understanding of Nigeria's financial services ecosystem, regulatory

frameworks (CBN, NDIC, NIBSS), and experience managing large-scale digital banking or

fintech projects.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and manage the overall project roadmap, milestones, and deliverables for the

digital bank setup.

● Lead cross-functional teams (technology, product, operations, compliance, and

marketing) to ensure timely project delivery.

● Define and monitor KPIs to track progress against project goals.

● Coordinate licensing and approval processes with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and

other relevant authorities.

● Ensure compliance with CBN guidelines on digital banking, KYC, data privacy, and risk

management.

● Liaise with legal and compliance teams to ensure regulatory readiness.

● Oversee selection, implementation, and integration of core banking systems, digital

channels, and third-party APIs.

● Manage vendor relationships, ensuring delivery quality and SLA compliance.

● Support cybersecurity and data protection measures in collaboration with IT teams.

● Drive process design for onboarding, customer support, payments, and transaction

monitoring.

● Lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and go-live planning.

● Establish governance frameworks for continuous improvement and scaling.

● Serve as the central coordination point between internal teams, partners, and external

vendors.

● Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

● Manage risks, dependencies, and change control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience

● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance,

or related field.

● 8+ years of experience in project management, preferably in banking, fintech, or

financial services.

● Proven track record managing the launch or transformation of a digital bank, neobank,

or fintech platform in Nigeria.

● Strong understanding of CBN regulatory frameworks, digital KYC, payments systems,

and local financial infrastructure.

● Demonstrated experience with Agile project management methodologies.

● PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is an advantage.

● Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
