JOB TITLE / DESIGNATION: Senior Mechanical Supervisor – (Manpower Contractor Role)
LOCATION: All Stations, UPC & UPS
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
DIRECTLY REPORTS TO: Maintenance Team Leader
DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: Mechanical Supervisors
Job Summary / Objective of Job
- Oversee Mechanical Maintenance personnel.
- Responsible for material requests related to OEM of specific equipment.
- Troubleshoot major system failures and equipment malfunctions.
- Function as part of plant emergency response team.
- Responsible for On-the-Job Training (OJT) and development of technicians.
- Repair or replace faulty equipment to attain reliability.
- Optimize the performance of mechanical products, machinery, and equipment.
- Work closely with planning and scheduling to ensure all needed resources are available for job execution and expectations are met safely and on time.
- Schedule and execute rotating/static equipment maintenance according to plan, workloads, resource availability, and priorities to ensure reliability and availability.
- Inspect task progress and final completion to ensure timely and quality job execution.
- Ensure all needed tools, equipment, and parts are readily available for scheduled jobs.
- Meet with maintenance technicians regularly to review assignments, conduct toolbox talks, and provide guidance.
- Assist and support HSE team in ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Assist mechanical engineers/projects team in designing mechanical products, analysing performance results, and maintaining mechanical equipment and machinery.

Qualifications and Skills
Education
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Technology.
- Technical/vocational training in maintenance disciplines (mechanical/electrical/instrumentation).
Experience
- 5–7 years of hands-on maintenance experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
- At least 2–5 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex equipment and systems.
- Experienced in mentoring or leading junior technicians.
Technical Skills
- Advanced mechanical maintenance (rotating & static equipment: pumps, compressors, turbines, valves).
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair.
- Reliability-centred maintenance and condition monitoring.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and equipment performance optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Ability to mentor and support junior technicians.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication with supervisors, engineers, and operators.
- Teamwork in multi-disciplinary and multicultural environments.
- Adaptability to site operations and shift rotations.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality maintenance practices.
Safety Skills
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and oil & gas safety standards.
- Skilled in Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and isolation procedures.
- Experience with hazardous area instrumentation (Ex-rated equipment).
- Hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Leading toolbox talks, safety briefings, and emergency drills.
