Frasers Hospitality is looking for a Food Safety Coordinator to join the team at Fraser Suites, Abuja. As Food Safety Advisor, you will develop and implement Food Safety programmes, create and maintain a comprehensive Food Safety Management System (FSMS) based on HACCP principles, encompassing all food handling procedures from production to service. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on teamwork, standards, and guest experience.

  

What you will be doing as Food Safety Advisor:

  • Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all kitchen and F&B outlets.
  • Identify and monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure food safety at every stage.
  • Educate employees on personal hygiene, uniform care, and professional appearance standards.
  • Regularly review and update the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Conduct frequent inspections and audits of all food and beverage areas to enforce food safety standards, local regulations, and hotel policies.
  • Monitor temperatures of food storage and cooking equipment to guarantee safe food handling.
  • Verify proper food handling techniques, including cross-contamination prevention and correct cooking temperatures.
  • Inspect food deliveries for quality and safety, and conduct internal and supplier audits for regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee cleaning and sanitation procedures, ensuring all areas meet hygiene standards.
  • Create and implement grooming standards for all staff, aligned with the hotel's brand and guest expectations.
  • Manage pest control monitoring and ensure effective pest management in all food areas.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive hygiene and food safety training programs, including regular refresher and specialized training (e.g., allergen management).
  • Oversee procurement, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and food safety equipment, including inventory and budget management.
  • Investigate and document food-related incidents or complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef, F&B Managers, and kitchen staff to ensure a coordinated approach to food safety, and communicate updates to all stakeholders.

What we're looking for:

Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and best practices.Strong understanding of food microbiology, foodborne illnesses, and allergen management.Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety.
