Mission
- To manage teams in providing end-to-end delivery and support of High-Quality and High Availability Data Services and IP Core Network across all MTNN coverage locations.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Network Implementation and Planning Departments to ensure that the implementation and onward management of Data and IP Core projects are in accordance with the respective plans and contract agreements.
- Responsible for the development of an optimal and cost-effective Data and IP Core Network strategy for MTNN.
- Coordinate and ensure timely development of the PPPs and an optimal network plan or design to support the implementation of Data and IP Core for MTNN.
- Carry out evaluation of proposals, assist in technology evaluation and equipment forecast, and ensure adequate tools and resources are available for Data and IP Core Network activities.
- Ensure adequate tools and resources are available for Data and IP Core network activities.
- Ensure and maintain 100% accurate and thorough knowledge, configurations, and database records of Data and IP Core network projects at all times.
- Ensure Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core Network availability and Manage network performance, bandwidth usage, and configuration to ensure conformance with set KPIs.
- Ensure proper new node integration and implementation of change requests and planned work, and achieve Planned Work Completion Rate
- Coordinate vendor-related emergency maintenance on the mobile or fixed data network.
- Ensure constant tracking, monitoring, and resolution of faults on the Mobile/Fixed Data network as per MTTR.
- Develop strategies to effectively leverage and integrate new Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core projects into existing network infrastructure.
- Ensure close liaison with other departments within NWG, IS, Marketing, S&D, CR, and ES to ensure operational requirements with respect to IP/MPLS, data redundancy, and architecture design.
- Responsible for developing processes and procedures required to ensure Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core projects are executed in accordance with the agreed plan and strategy and also in line with industry and global best practices, and to identify opportunities for improvements.
- Provide input in the development of an optimal and cost-effective Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core Network strategy for MTNN.
- Ensure that Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core projects match marketing and sales requirements and are designed to achieve the quality and performance KPIs and targets as defined by the business.
- Provide monthly and quarterly progress updates on Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core projects.
- Initiate spares and material management and support as it relates to Mobile and Fixed Data and IP Core project implementation.
- Collaborate with other business units in the development of business models for use in MTNN and develop measurement strategies to support ongoing strategy development and project optimization.
- Coach and train the departmental team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets and requirements, and regular review of their training needs.
- Review the performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.
Requirements
Education:
- First degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications
- Fluent in English and the language of the country is preferable.
Experience:
- 9–17 years of experience working on complex, commercially sensitive mobile/fixed Data and IP core networks e.g., technology evaluations/integration, due diligence, etc.:
- Manager track record of 3 years or more, with at least 3 years in the relevant sector or industry
- Work experience across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous.
- Experience in a GSM or mobile environment, preferably in a high-level support role in the core network
- Experience in support of a multi-vendor mobile/fixed data network or IP core, network security, and enterprise environment.
