Job Summary
The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses to provide accurate and reliable data in support of scientific research, testing and development. The role involves ensuring that all tests meet quality standards, adhering to safety protocols, maintaining laboratory equipment, and providing clear documentation of results.

Responsibilities
1. Perform routine and complex laboratory tests, experiments, or analyses according to established protocols.
2. Interpret test results and compare them with the expected outcomes to ensure
accuracy.
3. Record, analyze, and present findings in a clear, organized manner
4. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
5. Monitor the inventory of supplies and equipment, ordering necessary materials as required.
6. Ensure all procedures are followed in accordance with industry standards, guidelines, and regulations (e.g., Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)).
7. Participate in internal audits and external inspections when required.
8. Prepare and maintain detailed records of laboratory experiments, tests, and analyses.
9. Communicate findings effectively with supervisors and other stakeholders.
10. Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials
11. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field

Competencies
- Expertise in performing laboratory tests, analyzing data, and using laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and methodologies specific.
- Precision in carrying out tests and documenting results. Ability to identify discrepancies or errors in test results and correct them.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, such as equipment malfunctions or test inconsistencies, and find appropriate solutions
Strong analytical skills to interpret experimental data and generate meaningful insights or conclusions.
- Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and general office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data management and reporting.
- Familiarity with industry regulations (e.g., GLP, GMP, ISO standards) and laboratory safety procedures.
