We are expanding rapidly, with plans to enter new markets and hire over 100 people in the next six months. To support this growth, we need an experienced Technical Procurement Manager to lead our procurement efforts.

Job Summary

The Technical Procurement Manager will be responsible for end-to-end procurement processing, including competitive market analysis, supplier identification, and relationship management. They will also execute the RFI/RFP/RFQ process, negotiate contracts, and manage purchasing documents and materials.

Key Reporting Relationships:

  • Internal: Supply Chain Lead, Finance Team, Country-level management, and staff.
  • External: Company lawyers, company secretary, and key vendors/suppliers within and outside Nigeria.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare formal bid documents for technical procurement and administer the tender process in accordance with best practices and Jaza procedures.
  • Analyze supply markets to identify potential suppliers and market trends.
  • Identify internal and external cost drivers within technical procurement.
  • Develop savings opportunities and benchmark industry standards to identify quick-win opportunities.
  • Negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms for Jaza.
  • Manage and develop supplier relationships using leading practice procurement tools to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service, and quality.
  • Effectively select and manage suppliers/vendors to achieve Jaza's strategic objectives.
  • Forecast demand or create supply plans to ensure availability of materials/products.
  • Participate in engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly transitions.
  • Ensure goods/services procured comply with Jaza's procurement policy.
  • Inform staff and vendors regarding procedural requirements for facilitating the purchasing process.
  • Maintain purchasing documents, files, and records for ensuring documentation compliance.
  • Process requisitions into approved purchase orders and update/distribute information/acquire resources as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff/administration regarding purchasing procedures.
  • Review documents/data to ensure completeness and accuracy of the purchasing process.
  • Process supplier invoices for payment, matching POs against invoices and Goods Receipt Notes.
  • Reconcile open POs monthly.

General Operations

  • Comply with health, safety, and environment legislation in Nigeria and Jaza Nigeria's policies/procedures.
  • Live Jaza Core Principles and work proactively in a customer-related way in accordance with adopted procedures and best practices.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues/external stakeholders to promote Jaza Nigeria's overall business objectives.
  • Respect confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform any other duty as directed by line management.

Compliance Management

  • Understand Nigerian regulatory requirements applying to importation of goods and locally sourced services.
  • Ensure vendors adhere to Jaza standards.
  • Ensure adherence of company-wide purchases to budget.
  • Ensure procurement of assets/services is done in a cost-effective manner.
  • Recommend process/system improvement to enhance quality/effectiveness within the business.
  • Prepare periodic (weekly/monthly/quarterly) management/ad-hoc reports.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience in end-to-end service procurement in Energy, Telecommunication, Oil & Gas, Engineering, FMCG industries.
  • Minimum first degree in any science/engineering/social science.
  • Experience with computerized procurement processes is advantageous.
  • Experience in preparing budgets.
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end RFP process for services is mandatory.

Salary Estimate: N3,500,000 - N4,500,000 per annum based on qualifications, experience, and location.
