We are seeking a highly skilled Location Coordinator to join our team at Filmmakers Mart.

About the Role

This is a dynamic position that requires strong research, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify potential locations based on project requirements, considering factors such as accessibility, aesthetics, and feasibility.
  • Visit and assess locations to ensure they meet the project's needs, taking into account lighting, safety, and logistical considerations.
  • Negotiate with property owners or managers to secure permissions and contracts for location use, ensuring timely and cost-effective arrangements.
  • Obtain necessary permits and handle legal requirements for filming, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Present location options to key stakeholders, including detailed descriptions, photos, and videos, to support informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate logistics, including transport, parking, and equipment needs, to ensure smooth location shoots.
  • Ensure safety compliance and meet health and safety standards at each location, protecting both crew members and clients.
  • Manage budgets for location fees, travel expenses, and permits, maintaining accurate records and adhering to financial protocols.
  • Collaborate with production teams to align locations with creative and technical needs, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Solve location-related problems, such as weather issues or access challenges, to maintain project schedules and deliverables.
  • Maintain relationships with property owners and create a database of potential future locations, building a network of trusted partners.
  • Document scouting outcomes and challenges to inform future location selection processes, driving continuous improvement.
