We aim to support and empower women, men, girls, and boys concerning factors that affect their physical, emotional, social, economic, and psychological or psychosocial health and well-being.

Job Summary

The Director of Programs will play a strong leadership role through high-level strategic leadership and effective advocacy. S/he will be ultimately accountable for all aspects of the programs and projects, ensuring that organizational setup is adapted to the operational context.

Responsibilities
  • Research, plan, and implement programs that keep IDEA-International running.
  • Create an environment of open communication within the organization by collaborating with other departments on decision-making responsibilities and initiating new goal-setting initiatives.
  • Initiate and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Plan the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones, and processes.
  • Develop or approve budgets and operations.
  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements.
  • Supervise all departmental activities and make sure all departments' heads provide daily, weekly, and monthly feedback, and resolve complex problems.
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven experience as program coordinator or other managerial position.
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Working knowledge of MS office and program management software (e.g., Basecamp, MS Project, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus.
Estimated Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year.

Location

Maiduguri, Borno States, Nigeria.Language

English: Fluent (oral and written). Being able to speak and write local languages: Hausa, Kanuri, etc., will be an added advantage.
