We're looking for a creative, skilled, and passionate professional to lead our Fashion Design Department as the HOD, managing the business enterprise. If you love sketching, sewing, teaching, supervising and you want to shape the next generation of top Nigerian designers, this is your chance to shine.

This full-time, on-site position is based at Black Fragrance School of Design, Thomas Estate, Ajah.

The Fashion Instructor will play a key role in shaping and guiding the next generation of fashion designers. You'll be responsible for training students, developing practical and creative lesson plans, and ensuring that every student gains both technical skills and industry-level confidence.

Your daily activities will include:

  • Teaching and demonstrating various fashion design, sketching, pattern-making, and sewing techniques.
  • Organizing workshops, practical sessions, and assessments that bring out students' creativity.
  • Preparing and updating the training curriculum to meet current fashion industry trends.
  • Monitoring and evaluating students' progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Offering mentorship and career guidance to help students grow as designers.
  • Collaborating with other tutors and team members to maintain high teaching standards across the academy.

Qualification and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Fashion Design, Pattern Drafting, and Sewing Techniques.
  • Hands-on experience in cutting, stitching, fitting, and garment finishing.
  • Excellent ability to sketch fashion illustrations manually or digitally.
  • Understanding of fashion trends, textiles, and fabric behavior.
  • Creative eye for style, color coordination, and garment detailing.
  • Proven ability to develop lesson plans and train students practically.
  • Good classroom control and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Capable of mentoring and supervising junior designers and interns.
  • Able to mentor and lead a team with confidence and creativity.
  • Familiar with fashion sketching or digital design tools (added advantage).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in fashion design or training.
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • Previous experience heading a team or supervising in a fashion school is a plus.
  • Must be passionate,approachable, and committed to student growth.
