Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all field operations within the division (planting, harvesting, pruning, manuring, and weeding).
  • Monitor labour attendance, productivity, and discipline to ensure daily operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that harvesting targets are achieved with minimal crop loss and quality standards maintained.
  • Implement and enforce Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Conduct daily field inspections to assess crop condition, pest/disease incidence, and maintenance of estate infrastructure (roads, drains, housing).
  • Manage input application (fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides) according to agronomic plans and company policies.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly operational reports on labour utilization, field activities, and output.
  • Support the Estate Manager in budget preparation, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Liaise with the workshop and logistics unit to ensure timely availability of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Train, mentor, and appraise Field Supervisors and Harvesting Clerks within the division.
  • Maintain accurate records of field performance, labour returns, and yield data.
  • Assist in community relations and conflict resolution related to estate activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in plantation or agricultural field operations (preferably oil palm).
  • Strong knowledge of plantation management, crop husbandry, and labour supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and data analysis.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
