Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee the financial strategy, planning, and performance of the oil palm business, ensuring profitability, sustainability, and compliance. The role involves leading financial operations, optimizing cost structures, managing investment decisions, and ensuring efficient capital utilization across plantations, processing mills, and distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities & Metrics

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company growth targets (e.g., 10–15% annual revenue growth).
  • Lead annual budgeting and 5-year financial forecasting, ensuring accuracy within ±3% variance of actual performance.
  • Evaluate long-term capital investments in plantations, processing facilities, and logistics with ROI ≥ 12%.

2. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting with 100% compliance to IFRS and local regulations.
  • Maintain optimal working capital ratio (1.5–2.0) to support operational liquidity.
  • Implement ERP-based accounting system to reduce financial reporting time by 30%.

3. Cost Control & Efficiency

  • Drive cost optimization initiatives to reduce production cost per metric ton of crude palm oil (CPO) by 8–10% annually.
  • Monitor and control overhead expenses, targeting ≤5% variance against budget.
  • Develop cost models for plantation, milling, and distribution operations to improve decision-making.

4. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain internal control systems, reducing audit exceptions to zero major non-compliance issues.
  • Manage insurance, taxation, and regulatory filings with 100% on-time submission.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to commodity pricing, FX exposure, and environmental regulations.

5. Treasury & Funding

  • Oversee cash flow management to maintain minimum 3 months operational liquidity.
  • Lead financing initiatives for expansion projects, achieving funding costs ≤ market benchmark rates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.

6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead a finance team of [X] members, improving productivity and accuracy by ≥20% through training and automation.
  • Partner with Operations, Plantation, and Marketing teams to ensure financial alignment with business objectives.
  • Present quarterly performance reports to the Board, highlighting key financial and operational KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (MBA preferred).
  • Professional certification: ACCA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in agribusiness, manufacturing, or oil palm sector, with at least 5 years in executive leadership.
  • Strong understanding of plantation economics, CPO value chain, and export financing.
  • Must be willing to relocate anywhere in the country
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial modeling.
