We are looking for a
Program Assistant Intern
who is enthusiastic about startups, entrepreneurship, innovation, and ecosystem development. This role supports the smooth running of our programs, bootcamps, workshops, and community-building efforts.

Role Summary

The
Program Assistant Intern
provides operational, administrative, and research support across Africa Venture Studio's programs. You will help coordinate activities, communicate with founders, manage resources, track program milestones, and support the execution of training sessions, events, and cohort activities.

This is an ideal role for someone eager to learn how startup support programs operate from behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Coordination & Support

  • Assist in planning and organizing program sessions, workshops, and virtual training.
  • Help in managing schedules, calendars, and communication with program participants.
  • Support day-to-day program operations, including logistics, documentation, and task follow-up.

2. Founder & Community Engagement

  • Serve as a point of contact for startup founders enrolled in programs.
  • Provide timely responses to participant inquiries and ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Support community engagement activities across WhatsApp, Slack, and email channels.

3. Research & Content Support

  • Conduct research on industry trends, startup tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Assist with developing program materials—slides, briefs, worksheets, templates, etc.
  • Help collect case studies, insights, and performance data for internal reporting.

4. Operations & Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate records, attendance sheets, and program documentation.
  • Assist with preparing reports, KPI trackers, and feedback forms.
  • Support the program team with general administrative responsibilities.

5. Event Support

  • Assist in managing virtual/in-person events, founder showcases, and demo sessions.
  • Coordinate reminders, participant communications, and event logistics.
  • Support tasks such as note-taking, recording sessions, or gathering post-event insights.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in business, economics, social sciences, tech, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in startups, entrepreneurship, innovation, or venture capital.
  • Good communication skills—written and verbal.
  • Ability to stay organized, multitask, and deliver on deadlines.
  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

  • Experience with social media management, Canva, Notion, or similar tools.
  • Prior involvement in student entrepreneurship communities or volunteer work.
  • Research experience or ability to synthesize information quickly.
  • Event planning or coordination experience.
